दुई त्रिकोणको विशिष्ट रूप
नेपालको राष्ट्रिय झण्डा आयताकार नभएको विशिष्ट राष्ट्रिय झण्डाका रूपमा संसारभर चिनिन्छ। एकमाथि अर्को जोडिएका दुई त्रिकोणले लामो ऐतिहासिक परम्परालाई आधुनिक राष्ट्रिय पहिचानसँग जोड्छन्।
रङ र चिन्ह
झण्डाको गाढा रातो रङ, निलो किनारा तथा चन्द्र–सूर्यका सेता चिन्हले दृश्य रूपमा बलियो पहिचान बनाउँछन्। यसको आधिकारिक निर्माण अनुपात र विधि नेपालको संविधानमा निर्दिष्ट छ, त्यसैले औपचारिक प्रयोगमा सही नमुना अपनाउनु आवश्यक हुन्छ।

झण्डा सजावट मात्र होइन, साझा राष्ट्रिय प्रतीक हो। डिजिटल डिजाइन, कार्यक्रम वा प्रकाशनमा यसको अनुपात नबिगार्ने, अपमानजनक सन्दर्भमा प्रयोग नगर्ने र आधिकारिक निर्देशिकाको सम्मान गर्ने जिम्मेवारी सबैको हो।
A distinctive double-pennant form
Nepal's national flag is recognised around the world for its non-rectangular shape. Its two joined pennants connect a long visual tradition with modern national identity.
